What A Fire by Richard Arfsten

This is Nero whistling and fiddling while Rome burned. It is a clay fired piece made to look like it was bronze. It was way more money that I had to have a art foundry go through the never ending work to make a bronze piece of sculpture.

About this time I was trying to come up with a way to do the casting myself and eliminate the foundry fees and the gallery fees. After those costs are taken out the artist is getting $.50 an hour, whoopie. That is why I made a super duper farm barn painting truck and painted barns for 50 years. I live in a rural farming part of Wisconsin. When there were no barns to paint I made my art. I also did not waste a lot of time watching television. I went to trade schools at night to learn all the skills I needed to build my sculpture.
