Nuclear Burn Out by Richard Arfsten
Here we have something akin to the Chernobyl disaster but discovered on a planet that Flash and I visited. The planet was dead. They must have had a catastrophic war that decimated all life.
This was an experiment in carving a block of sand and pouring metal into the cavity. There is no way of knowing what you are going to get. But you always get something. Most of these tries are a complete bomb. Think of being blind folded and trying to shoot the ducks in a shooting arcade. This one came out quite cool and was easy to spin a story around.
It is cast iron and very heavy and has spent 30 years in my sculpture display area in my garden.
Sculpture size: 20"H x 8"W x 8"D
