Sara by Richard Arfsten
Sara - cast aluminum. Sara is another pick from my travels with Flash. This is an effigy of a once popular leader. She was a political official on a planet where she was aspiring to a higher office. As the story goes she was kind of like Henny Penny, always screaming "the sky is falling, the sky is falling." From what we could gather from the elder people she was quite pretty but had a reputation as not being the sharpest tack in the box. Sounds like a recurring theme.
I cast her in aluminum using an experimental casting process which is extremely difficult to control. It has taken me many years to learn how to make it work with a modicum of success.
Sara will come with a thick stone base that she sits on but is not attached to. It is polished on top and rough cut on the sides. Edition of one.
Sculpture size: about 12"Hl x 10"W x 10"D
