Arapahoe Monolith by Richard Arfsten
Arapahoe Monolith - maquette. This is a simple design that just works. It was one of my very first pieces in the first of a series of work that honors indigenous peoples. I had not thought of casting a base as part of the piece yet.
This is a maquette and also would make a nice desk top piece. It is solid bronze and very heavy. I learned the advantage of aluminum after casting a couple of the pieces in this series. It would be dangerous to mail the maquette without a warning about how heavy it is so the delivery person does not sustain an injury by picking it up and dropping it.
The maquette will come with a polished stone base that has rough cut sides.
Maquette size: 9"H x 4"W
