Spore by Richard Arfsten
Here we have one of my first experiments with a special foam carving tool. I made it from an old soldering gun. It worked too good and was hard to control.
This turned out to be a mushroom spore case like I have in my woods. It is an interesting design with a very organic look to it. These spore cases grow a couple of inches in a day. That always amazed me. Did you know you can hear corn grow on a hot quiet night if you stand still in a corn field in mid-July? The things you learn living in the country. LOL
This piece will come with a thick stone base that is polished on top and rough cut on the sides.
Sculpture size: 14"H x 5"W x 3"D
