Played Out by Richard Arfsten
In the 40's I was a very young boy in Chicago. We had an old rag picker that would come down the alley about once a week. "Rags, rags, money for your rags", was the song he kept singing. Old house wives would meet him in the alley for a few pennies in exchange. He was on a old wood wagon pulled by a old hoarse that looked under fed and very weak. When I was modeling this piece direct in wax that memory came to me. This is a bronze piece in a style that is somewhat abstract yet conveys feeling.
This piece will come with a thick stone base that is polished on top and rough cut on the sides.
