Cerulean Sector. This is a monotype that depicts part of my fantasy world as a space time traveler.
A monotype is a handmade print that only yields one copy. It is made by applying ink to a surface and laying a piece of paper over it, then putting pressure on it so some of the ink will transfer to the paper. The amount of ink is controlled by the pressure applied and a number of other variables. The end result is you never know what the image will be when you open the "package" and have a peek. It is kind of like a Christmas present for the little boy in me.
It usually takes many applications of ink with a week of drying time between runs thru the press.
This original print is made on a commercial paper I like to print on because the ink stays shinney. It will be shipped in a large roll so you can take it to your frame shop to pick your choice of mat and frame. Another choice is to have Artspan print a reproduction copy for you at a size of your choice. They also offer mat and frame choices. See choices below.
