Alternate Realities by Richard Arfsten
Times are a changing. If you tell a lie long enough some people begin to think it is the truth. It is very troubling when you hear so many lies and the people telling them claim they are not lies but alternate realities.
Then they proclaim the news is fake when the liar is called out and shown to be a flat out liar. The worst part is when people who know better go along with the charade, hoping against hope that the Grand Pupa must have some mystical magic that they will get a few crumbs, while they are being robbed of their democracy and well being.
This sculpture represents the lies. One on top of another to justify the last bit of make believe. The more lies told the bigger they have to get to perpetuate the charade.
As pictured it it is a desktop sculpture. It will come with a stone base that the piece sits on loose. In the art world it is called a maquette. It is also referred to as a builder's model. An architect could use this to show prospective clients how the sculpture would appear when installed in a public spaces.
The rights to enlarge this piece are not part of this sale, that is a separate fee. The maquette can be sent anywhere in the world and a metal fabricator would build it there. This saves lots of expense in shipping costs and logistics.
