Boca Raton by Richard Arfsten
Boca Raton - maquette. This is a maquette and can be used as a desk topsculpture. It is a unique, solid aluminum piece with a polychrome finish.
Color is magic. I love paint. Most of these maquettes are not colored so it is easier to read the form. A good lesson to take from this piece is to make some copies of the maquette you are interested in and color the sculpture with water colors or the computer with your own color ideas. It is a mind blowing experience. It will transform the piece into happy, zippy, somber, classical or Caribbean, etc.
Unfortunately this piece has disappeared. As I am organizing my life's work in this catalog the space on the shelf where this piece was is empty. Someone has been stealing my work for years. Some how they are getting past my locks.
It will come with a thick stone base that is polished on the top and rough cut on the sides assuming it will surface.
