Tivoli by Richard Arfsten
Tivoli - cast metal. Here is another piece that has been living in my garden for 25 years. It is too much work to get these into town to photograph in my studio. So this is the next best thing - ye old fork lift and a pallet.
You might say these have their working clothes on. I offered to sand blast off the lichens for one man and he said that was part of the charm. Kind of like painting a nice old antique. I like to see history so here it is. It was not shipped in from China and it is the only one in the whole world like it - just like all of my sculpture. I am not big on "work" and making copies is a lot of work. It's not possible to make copies of these designs anyway.
This piece is cast iron which is 3 times heavier than aluminum and tricky to cast. It's redeeming quality is that it's manly, er er er.
This maquette will come with a thick stone base that is polished on the top and rough cut on the sides. If you have an interest in having this design enlarged please talk to me to discuss the fee as that right is not part of the price of the desk top sculpture.
