Biological Family - assemblage. This is a piece from one of several series I have made over the years that depict personal relationships. Here we have a biological family. The children on the left will eventually grow a top design somewhat like a roosters comb like their parents on the right. This series was inspired by a visit to a distant land on another planet with Flash Gordon my childhood hero who I travel with in dreamtime adventures.
This piece is in my sculpture display and has been repainted several times over the last 30 years. This was the original painting scheme. I use some of my sculpture as opportunities to create abstract paintings on 3D surfaces. Adopted Family and Enigma are other examples of that.
