Deja Vu by Richard Arfsten
There are three maquettes in this series. All have a tall spire with curved elements at the bottom. I cast these and one day I turned on the TV and the World Trade Buildings were coming down. Remember strange encounters of the third kind. Richard Draphus had this uncontrollable urge to build clay models of Devils Tower, do do do do. Beam me up Scotty. Who says I do not do out of body travels in my sleep. Maybe that is why I sometimes wake up tired?
This piece is cast in bronze and is so heavy I can hardly lift it. This is why most every thing I do is cast in aluminum.
Deva Vu as a desk top sculpture is spectacular. It will come with a thick marble base.
Talk to me about enlargement rights if you have an interest.
